Halifax Farmer's Market parking lot
Materials: 4' x 4' plywood board, 2" long nails
A site specific installation composed of three 4'x4’ boards each with 576 nails (2304 total) to mimic grass in an industrial, brutalist, and man-made way.
This installation attempts to convey the message that Halifax has a lot of wasted space in the form of parking lots that can be turned into green space and parks that engage the community and add a sense of pride to the residence of Halifax. Using nails to represent grass adds to the brutal aesthetic of the installation and conveys the message of nature fighting back against human development.
